1. What sororities are here at WCU?

2. How can I join a sorority?
To join a Panhellenic sorority, we have a few different ways to join. The first being Primary Recruitment which is a formal process that takes place in the fall semester. To learn more about Primary Recruitment click here. Another option of joining an organization is through Continuous Open Bidding. To learn more about COB, click here. While CPC represents the four Panhellenic sororities on campus, there are five other sororities on campus through other councils. Click here to learn about all sororities on campus.
4. How much does it cost to join a sorority?
It is important to recognize that joining a sorority is a financial responsibility. Each organizations dues vary from $675 - $760 for first semester new member dues and $378 - $480 per semester member dues. Organizations and CPC offer scholarships and most chapters help you set up a payment plans that fits your situation the best. Click here to view individual chapter dues.

5. Do I have to live in a sorority house if I join?
Housing requirements differ per organization, and this is a great question to ask during Recruitment. The Village on WCU's campus is dedicated to Greek housing. COVID-19 has affected some organizations being able to fill their house which has resulted in them not having a house on campus for this coming year. Organizations are able to receive their house back by being able to have enough members to live there.
7. Will joining a sorority affect my grades?
While joining a sorority provides campus involvement that keeps you busy, academics ALWAYS remain priority. With this, each organization has their own GPA requirement to be eligible for a bid. Also, our organizations work diligently to provide resources for their members to keep academics priority. By implementing study hours, sister study groups, academic awards, etc, members are provided resources to keep their grades up and remain motivated!
8. How can I learn more about individual sororities?
The best way to learn more about individual chapters is by signing up for Primary Recruitment here! The process allows you to learn about all aspects of each organization. 9. How long will I be a new member?
Each organization new member process has a different length to it, with the longest being around 8 weeks. The new member process for organizations allow new members to get to know the other members in their new member class while learning about the chapter's history and organization as a whole. the campus community and the organization as a whole.
10. What about hazing?
Hazing is defined as any action taken, or situation created, intentionally, whether on or off fraternity premises, to produce mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule. Hazing is not tolerated at all as it goes against our Panhellenic Bylaws, WCU Student Code of Conduct, and the NC State law.
12. Is there a dress code for Primary Recruitment?
While we may suggest certain outfits for certain days (ex: formal wear for Preference), there is no specific dress code for recruitment besides wearing the Recruitment t-shirt during sisterhood and values round!
